English Language Art (ELA) Helper
Class Description:
Boost your 1st grader’s reading, writing, and phonics skills in our fun ELA tutoring class! With personalized support from high school and adult tutors, hands-on activities, and engaging challenges, kids build confidence, strengthen skills, and love learning. Priority goes to those who need extra help, starting with a quick assessment to tailor the lessons.
For Grade 1.
Math Tutoring
Class Description:
Math just got fun! In this tutoring class for 2nd and 3rd graders, students strengthen their foundational skills, tackle problem-solving challenges, play engaging math games, and build confidence every step of the way. Small groups and friendly high school volunteers provide encouragement, support, and extra help—so every student can succeed and have a blast while learning!
For Grades 2-3.
Ozobot Adventures
Class Description:
In this exciting class, students will dive into coding and robotics with Ozobot—a pocket-sized smart robot that can follow lines, read color codes, and be programmed through block-based coding. Students will start by learning to control Ozobot using simple color patterns and then progress to creating programs on a computer.
Over 8 weeks, students will tackle creative challenges like solving math problems, playing bingo and dice games, navigating mazes, and even staging dance battles with Ozobots. These activities make abstract concepts fun and concrete while building problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking. By the end, students will confidently design and program their own Ozobot projects, bringing their ideas to life.
For Grades 4-5.
Plug & Make with Arduino
Class Description:
Discover the fun of coding and electronics with Arduino! Arduino is a popular technology that blends hardware and software to bring interactive projects to life. In this hands-on Sunday program, middle school students will explore how sensors and modules work together to power real-world devices. Each week, they’ll design and test exciting experiments using LED pixels as displays while learning the basics of simple C programming. By the end of the course, students will understand how everyday gadgets sense, react, and share information—all while building their own interactive creations.
For Grades 6-8.
Exploring Math with GeoGebra
Class Description:
Make math an adventure with GeoGebra! GeoGebra is a free, interactive math software that lets students explore and visualize math concepts. Kids can see math come to life as they plot points, build shapes, and experiment with equations. From drawing circles and rectangles to exploring animated unit circles, students play with math concepts and discover how algebra and geometry connect to the real world. By creating and experimenting with their own models, learners gain a deeper understanding while having fun.
For Grades 9-10.
